its a very succsseful korean movie even overseas : japan ,taipei, toronto… it will be open on 22nd nov … it already hit 100 million domestic views
the cast: Seo Young-ju, Lee Jung-hyun, Jun Yejin

here is an article about its success in japan :

The Korean film Juvenile Offender won two awards at the 25th Tokyo International Film Festival which wrapped up on October 28. Directed by Kang Yi-kwan Starring Seo Young- joo, the film won awards for Best Actor and Special Jury Prize in the Competition Section. The annual Tokyo International Film festival, held biannually from 1985 to 1991 and thereafter annually every October, hits its 25th anniversary this year. Being one of Asian’s two largest
competitive film festivals along with Shanghai’s, the Tokyo Film Festival awards directors with a creative mindset who produce unique films and
present new visions for the future. This year, it gave awards to 16 films accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) chosen from among various selections from 52 countries. Aside
from the main award ceremony, the film festival ran a diverse array of programs during its three-day run, inviting and showcasing overseas
films that have caused a global sensation and the best films selected by Japanese film directors, and also held film-focused forums for Asian production companies and investment agencies to gather and share information.

The Korean prize-winning film Juvenile Offender tells a story about a teenage boy on probation who comes to meet his mother, thought to be dead for 13 years. The cast and crew stayed at a reformatory facility for some time to have a better understanding of the psychology and circumstances of young  offenders and the film was shot entirely on location at actual institutions to add realism. Male actor Seo Young-joo’s portrayal of a young offender’s dual
immaturity and world-weariness was praised by critics. Juvenile Offender tells a story about a teenage boy on probation who happens to meet his mother, thought to be dead for 13 years (photo courtesy of TimeStory).

“It wasn’t easy to make this movie and it is as if a miracle that we got this far,” said director Kang Yi-kwan at the awards ceremony “My warmest thanks go to the two actors that gave me the strength to continue.” “I am honored to receive the award,” said award recipient Seo Young-joo. “I actually was just
happy to participate in this festival.” Juvenile Offender, a rising Korean film making a serial appearance on the global stage not only in Tokyo but also Toronto and Taipei, will give a preview screening on November 9 and open on
November 22. More information is available on ‘Crimeboy 2012′

Recently, groups have ventured into other activities aside from music.

The most prominent group who continues to make achievements is none other than JYJ. JYJ, made up of Kim Jaejoong, Park Yuchun, and Kim Junsu, have been very active and have excelled in various fields such as dramas, movies, and musicals.

First, Kim Jaejoong, who set aside his charismatic look to show his comedic side, will greet the audience on the 15th with his movie ‘Jackal is coming’.

Park Yuchun made a comeback in the new MBC drama ‘I miss you’ which had its first broadcast last Nov 7. He played Han Jungwoo, a fearless homicide detective who is yearning for his first love. His desperation can be seen when he is chasing criminals.

Kim Junsu has somewhat shown a different pace from Kim Jaejoong and Park Yuchun. The two members are leaning towards acting, Kim Junsu, on the other hand, has dedicated himself to singing and musicals.

Kim Junsu, who was awarded Best Actor at the 18th Korea Musical Awards that was held on the 29th, has the reputation that surpassed beyond idol limits.

He released his first solo album Tarantallegra last May and embarked on a world tour starting in Seoul and has expanded in 5 Asian cities (Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand), followed by North and South America such as New York and Mexico.

Above all, Kim Junsu has worked with top English producers and staff to released an English single ‘Uncommitted’ and the English version of Tarantallegra as a means to communicate with fans during his world tour. The world tour consisted of 11 cities and was hotly received by 55,000 fans.

Fans are now interested about his future plans after he completes his European tour.

OBS has made this inquiry with C-JeS Entertainment, the agency in charge of management for Kim Junsu. An official has responded, “After his Germany concert on the 30th, his schedule is not yet determined.”

“He is interested in acting. If there is a good opportunity to do so, he will do it, but there is no plan as of now. He is also considering musicals from various angles”, he added.

Meanwhile, Kim Junsu will have a show in Oberhaussen, Germany on the 30th for his world tour finale.

World star Kim Jaejoong was very nervous.

To everyone, the word ‘first’ has a very deep meaning. If the singer has the first record, the actor has the first movie/drama. To Kim Jaejoong who has already positioned himself firmly as the best Hallyu star of South Korea, the movie ‘Code name: Jackal’ is his first screen debut. His heart palpitated with worries.

Kim Jaejoong showed a quite stiff look at the interview with Newsen in a café at Seoul Samcheong-dong on Nov 12.  It was his first interview as a rookie movie actor. Kim Jaejoong was very humble and answered honestly the questions.

Actually, even the reaction of ‘surprise/unexpectedness’ was also due to the tacit prejudice against him. Instead of topics that can become eye-catching gossips such as his private life, [JYJ] members, dating or love, I was more curious about the acting of ‘actor Kim Jaejoong’ (T/N: the reporter used연기학 to refer acting as a major of study). I was amazed by his cleverness and adroitness which I couldn’t catch for a brief moment at first.

“I think you will be trembling whatever kind of “first” experience it is. Also, because I don’t have experience, the movie world somehow seems harsher.” Kim Jaejoong carefully opened his heart, “I am having that feeling again. I hope that everyone would enjoy it. This is my first big screen appearance. It was really burdensome.”

In this movie, Kim Jaejoong plays Choi Hyun, an arrogant top star. Apart from the entire story and directing, it’s indeed surprising to watch the character Choi Hyun brought to life by Kim Jaejoong. Of course, his acting skill was already verified through dramas ‘Protect the Boss’ and ‘Dr. Jin’. However, movie is obviously different from drama. This man who will take over the big screen, there is nothing that he can’t do.

“I have watched the movie twice. The first time I was absent-minded. The second time finally the whole drama came into my eyes. More than anything else, the characters are so funny. Although it’s the movie I chose, I was actually worried a lot about how I would portray Choi Hyun who is also a singer just like me. I was also curious about my acting. (Laughs) I wonder whether it would be fine if I followed the screenplay.”

As time passed, many things were filmed but he also suffered because of that. He must not lose the string of emotion and had to show the aesthetic aspect of the ‘messing up’ which is not really easy to act out. Since he has perfectly digested it (t/n: portrayed the character), isn’t the only fear the praises that will pour down?

“Oh, it still leaves much to be desired. I think the first time is the hardest time. Should I do that gently?  Should I give much power on my shoulders? Because I must show some desperate actions in order to survive after being kidnapped, it was probably a distinction. It might be confusing but I did my best. I did try very hard. Really! Haha”

Park Yoo Chun is shedding his soft and warm image for his new drama role.

MBC released new still cuts of the singer/actor and giving a glimpse of his character, Han Jung Woo.

After losing connection with his first love through a series of unfortunate events, Han Jung Woo goes on to become a tough-as-nails investigator.

A source from the drama’s production shared, “Undertaking the role of a tough investigator, Park Yoo Chun has shown his wild and intimidating gazes whilst acting. Be on the watch for his action scenes as well.”

The drama will next air on November 14 on MBC and will show how Han Jung Woo and Lee Soo Yeon, in their youth, came to split.

JYJ’s Jae Joong recently shot the film Jackal is Coming, which will be released on November 15. It’s a story about a ruthless top celebrity and a female killer who tries to kill him.

Jae Joong says, “I’ve had a charismatic image for a long time, so I chose this film because my character is quite comical. I was worried if I could do well at first, but it was fun.”

Regarding his charismatic image, Jae Joong says, “It’s actually hard to be charismatic. Charismatic characters are harder to portray.”

Jae Joong also says he doesn’t want to look charismatic. He says, “I wish people think of a a variety of images when they look at me. When people see that my actual personality is quite different from the charismatic image seen on TV, they usually say they haven’t expected it. I want to change that impression. That’s why I always try to do new things. I tried to portray different characters in drama series and in this film, as well.”

Jae Joong says he wants to portray an evil character next time. He says, “Such a character might not be a lead character, but I want to do if I get a chance.”
