Although ‘Miss You’ view rate wasn’t very high, it was able to gather a wide-array of maniac fans. In this heart-warming drama, the main characters reflected their emotions in a delicate way, and ‘Miss You’ also had revenge theme and twist suspense in it. It also drew the process of healing the afflicted characters in a warm way, but also unfold in densely woven storyline of violence and revenge. But such bilateral extremes seemed to hurt the drama as it can drift the attention of the viewers.

The characters of the drama ‘Miss You’ led it to be acknowledged for its exquisite acting performance. Park Yu-Cheon was able to calibrate his eclectic spectrum of acting skills as he portrayed playful guy with a deep, sorrowful inner-side. Yoon Eun-Hye showed her potential as a ‘Mellow-queen,’ as she displayed her intricate tear-shedding acting skills and emotions. For Yoo Seung-Ho, it was a glance from the other side, as he perfectly represented a psychopathic murderer character. The actors indeed made the drama not only a star-studded cameo, but also a masterwork that impresses its viewers.

Happy Ending For The Tragic First Love Of Jung Woo and Soo Yeon

‘I Miss You’ ended in a surprisingly happy ending for the tragic protagonists of the drama.

The episode picked up from the moment Jung-woo Park Yoochun opened the shed, the shed 14 years ago where he was kidnapped and Soo-yeon (Yoon Eun-hye) was raped in. As the doors creak open, Jung-woo sees Soo-yeon, and Harry (Yoo Seung-ho) with a gun in his hand.

Even as the three meet together, Harry still begs for Soo-yeon’s love desperately. However, Jung-woo scolds Harry for his malice, telling him that he once again failed to take care of Soo-yeon because of Harry’s hatred towards himself, just as before he let Soo-yeon drift apart because of his hatred for Tae-joon. Soo-yeon expresses her sorriness towards the enraged Harry, but she moves between him and Jung-woo to shield her true love. The next moment, however, Jung-woo is shot by Harry. Harry was also shot by the police, who arrived to save Jung-woo and Soo-yeon.

After 10 months, Jung-woo wakes up after a successful surgery, and is back to his ‘mad rabbit’ routine of catching criminals. However, he now has Soo-yeon by his side, and he gives Soo-yeon the ID card with the name Lee Soo-yeon on it, for her long-lost true identity.

Harry, who lost his learning ability as a result of his blood loss during the incident in the shed, is imprisoned for life because of his crimes. However, when Soo-yeon and Jung-woo come to visit him before his incarceration, he is revealed to still have memories of Soo-yeon in his childhood.

Jung-woo and Soo-yeon at last marry in a church. At the last moment of the drama, the couple pledge their love towards one another. The drama ends with Jung-woo and Soo-yeon’s fantasy of their younger selves and Harry playing together innocently.

A Sneak Peek Through Prologue and Episode Preview

The 20th episode of the drama left off at Han Tae-joon (Han Jin-hee) taking away Lee Soo-yeon (Yoon Eun-hye), and Jung-woo stepping into the shed that left him and Soo-yeon traumatized 16 years ago to find Soo-yeon.

While Jung-woo and Soo-yeon had proposed to each other, and Jung-woo had obtained the critical evidence pointing to Harry’s serial killing, the preview movie of the next episode showed Soo-yeon shaking with fear, Harry wailing with blood on his hands, and someone undergoing an emergency surgery, pointing to the fact that the ending may not be as happy as we think.

The prologue of the drama showed Han Jung-woo pointing a gun at someone, collapsing as if he had been shot, and Harry wailing with blood on his hands next to a prone and immobile body of a man, suggesting a tragic ending. Some have raised the possibility of the sad ending on the Internet as well, while most wish for a happy ending for the tragic protagonists.

Many are asking for a happy ending of the poor protagonists in the official homepage of the drama. Viewers wish to see Soo-yeon and Jung-woo being reunited and happy despite their tragic past.

A representative of the drama commented that “we cannot confirm the ending until the filming of the drama is wrapped up” and “everyone in the set has thought about the ending of the drama”.

He continued, “since the beginning of the drama and Lee Soo-yeon’s rape, ‘I Miss You’ has contained those who live with wounds and those who gave the wounds” and “in some respect, I think the drama’s ending will be the one which depicts and heals their wounds”.

The production conference of the drama on last year’s December also dropped hints of the drama’s ending as well.

Park Yoochun, on the question of the projected ending of the drama, commented “we actors and staff often come together to talk about it, and we probably have to wait for the episodes to say definitely, but some of us think that happy ending wouldn’t be so suitable” and “the director thinks that the happy ending wouldn’t work and I also believe that sad ending would be better for the drama”.

He commented, “I think the drama would be better if it ended on a sad and dark tone, rather than bright, whether it be tragic or not” and “the drama then will have an impact on both the viewers and us”.

Despite the drama’s foreshadowing and implications hinting a sad ending for the protagonists, the real ending for the drama will have to wait until the drama’s airing on 17th.

Han Jung Woo proposes to Lee Soo Yeon—”Will you marry me?”

In the episode of MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday series Missing You that aired on January 16, Lee Soo Yeon (played by Yoon Eun Hye) doesn’t know what to do, planning to give Han Jeong Woo (played by Park Yoo Chun) a ring.

Showing up unexpectedly at Soo Yeon’s working studio, Jung Woo gives her a yellow umbrella with her name tag. The umbrella, a kind of token that reminds them of their memory of adolescence, was given to Jung Woo by Soo Yeon.

Jung Woo says, “Giving away a sole umbrella on a rainy day means giving everything, right? I’m going to tell that to my child when I have one. That’s what you do when you’re in love.”

Kneeled down before Soo Yeon, Jung Woo proposed to her. “Lee Soo Yeon, a love interest of a crazy rabbit, Han Jung Woo’s first love. Will you marry me?” Jung Woo says, giving her a ring.

“Will you marry me on the first day of snowing this year?” he says. Soo Yeon accepts his proposal by saying, “I wish it snowed in no time.”

Then Jung Woo tries to kiss her. Soo Yeon stops him, saying, “Hold on” and gives him a ring that she was going to give him. She goes on, “The ring I prepared is for the wedding day. Now let’s call it a day.”

Surprised, Jung Woo smiles with happiness and says, “It’s a good thing that I wasn’t in a hurry. That was a close call.”
